Understanding Your
New Home Warranty
Your new home comes with warranty coverage designed to
protect you against certain defects and issues after you’ve received the keys.
This coverage is provided through an independent, third-party warranty provider
who works alongside Minto’s commitment to quality and service.
Working Together to
Support Your Warranty
Your third-party warranty provider plays an important role
in your homeowner journey.
Minto, as your Builder:
- Builds the home and coordinates construction
- Addresses warrantable items during the warranty period
- Acts as the primary point of contact for service requests
- Works with trades to complete repairs
- Defines warranty coverage and timelines
- Determines warrantability based on established coverage guidelines
- Provides an independent resolution process, if needed
Your Warranty Steps
This is an opportunity to view your home within the two weeks prior to receiving your keys. Your Representative will lead you through a demonstration of your home’s features and show you the mechanicals of your home. You will also have an opportunity to identify and note any concerns which we are fully committed to addressing.
The big day! When you receive the keys to your new home, your warranty coverage officially begins.
While the first weeks after moving are an important part of the warranty period, coverage extends beyond that initial phase. Your warranty is designed to support you over time, not just at move‑in.
Within the first 30 days of taking possession of your new Minto home, you have an opportunity to submit a list of any incomplete items or items requiring further review so they can be addressed as early as possible.
Once we receive your list, we’ll schedule an in-home visit with a Minto Warranty Service Technician and coordinate any required follow-ups with our trade partners. Our goal is to proactively support you during your first weeks in your new home and ensure any warrantable items are identified and resolved efficiently.
The 1-year anniversary of your closing is a key milestone in your homeowning journey. As your home experiences all four seasons, you may notice additional items to be addressed. You can submit a list of any items as your 1-year anniversary approaches, and our Warranty Team will review and determine any warrantable next steps.
Your Role as a Homeowner
As a homeowner, you play an important role in the warranty
process. Understanding your responsibilities early will help create a smoother
experience throughout your warranty period.
Before and after possession, homeowners are responsible for:
- Reviewing the warranty information provided
- Becoming familiar with coverage timelines and submission windows
- Performing regular home maintenance
- Reporting potential warranty concerns within the required timeframes
